How GETUTOR’s Matching Process Stays Honest
Most platforms in Hong Kong claim to offer “the best” tutors, but the data behind those claims is rarely shared. GETUTOR takes a different position. Our matching team has access to internal performance records that go back several years across thousands of cases. When a parent reaches us for 相關科目 tutoring, the team checks the verified pool against a few hard criteria: the candidate’s previous students with similar starting points, the consistency of outcomes across cases, and whether the tutor has documented progress reports for ongoing students. This is not a marketing claim — it is the operating method our coordinators use every day.
We also do not pretend that every match works on the first try. A small percentage of cases require a second match because the student’s learning style and tutor’s teaching style are not aligned despite a good academic fit. When this happens, our team replaces the tutor without additional friction. Parents who use GETUTOR understand that the value is in the process — verified credentials, transparent profile data, and a coordinator who reads the request carefully — not in a guarantee that every case is perfect. About GETUTOR’s Tutor List and Verification Process
GETUTOR maintains an active pool of more than 35,000 verified tutors across Hong Kong, drawn from the three major universities (HKU, CUHK, UST) as well as PolyU, City University, Baptist University, Education University, and overseas institutions. Every tutor on our list has submitted proof of academic credentials before being added. Our coordinators cross-check transcripts and previous teaching history. We do not accept self-claimed qualifications.
What Our Tutor List Includes
The list covers all major subject areas: Chinese, English, Mathematics, Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), Liberal Studies, Economics, BAFS, Geography, History, Chinese History, and Visual Arts. How Our Matching Team Uses the List
When a parent or student submits a request, our matching team does not simply send the full list. Instead, the team reviews the request alongside any tutoring history the family shares, then cross-references our verified pool for tutors whose previous students had similar starting points and reached similar target outcomes. Two or three matched candidates are presented with reasoning attached, not just availability. The parent decides which candidate to meet first.
