School-wide Language Policy : The school was one of the first secondary schools to be approved to use English as the medium of instruction in 1998. With the exception of Chinese Language, Chinese History, Bible, Life and Society (Secondary 3), Civics and Social Development (Secondary 4), and Liberal Studies (Secondary 5 and 6), all other subjects are taught in English. Putonghua is introduced in the Chinese Language subject in Secondary 1 and 2 to strengthen the foundation of “two cultures and three languages”.
Learning and Teaching Strategies : The school advocates for holistic development, focusing on moral, intellectual, physical, social, aesthetic, and spiritual aspects. The school aims to enhance self-esteem, establish a language foundation, establish discipline, and cultivate a service spirit. In addition, the school offers English Literature at the junior high school level, and Mandarin is used as the medium of instruction for the junior high school Chinese language subject, thereby laying a good language foundation for students. Each subject has comprehensive teaching guidelines tailored to the level of students each year, and regular reviews are conducted. Comprehensive facilities facilitate the participation of all teachers and students in the school: 1: Two morning reading times are arranged for the entire school each week; 2: A comfortable and spacious junior high school Chinese language and literature library is open 24 hours a day; 3: Students are actively encouraged to participate in extracurricular reading activities and competitions.
