My name is Abbey, and I have a strong passion for education and helping students reach their full potential. Throughout high school, I worked part-time at a tutoring centre, and during the COVID-19 pandemic, I tutored full-time, alongside offering private lessons. These experiences helped me develop skills in explaining complex concepts, adapting to different learning styles, and building students’ confidence. Although I initially pursued a degree in medicine, I discovered that teaching is my true passion. I enjoy guiding students, fostering curiosity, and supporting their learning journeys. As a native English speaker who is also fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin, I can provide a comfortable environment for students to express themselves in their mother tongue when needed, ensuring they fully understand concepts while improving their English proficiency. Since starting university in 2021, I have not had regular teaching experience, and I am eager to gain recent, hands-on practice to strengthen my skills. My long-term goal is to become a full-time teacher, and I am committed to developing as an educator while positively impacting students’ learning.
