Personal Profile 自我介紹
My name is Lau Ying Yu, Greta. I am a DSE graduate of 2020. My target groups are students from kindergarten, primary school and junior forms of secondary school.
I am glad to get along with children and take care of them. My strengths are teaching young kids and help checking their homework, as well as solving their academic questions. I am fluent in English, Putonghua and Cantonese, so I am capable to teach students in both speaking and writing aspects.
I have also joined different speech competition, such as The Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival (Both English and Cantonese), receiving plenty of positive comments and even awarded prizes.
I am a patient, cheerful and kind person. I like spending time with children. As a person with passion on teaching and learning, I understand the most efficient way of learning is not mechanically memorizing but to learn from experiences. Nevertheless, it is important to help children to develop interest on learning under lively atmosphere.

Having finished my studies in the U.K. for a couple of years, I have then graduated from one of the top ranked U.S. universities - Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). That I had graduated with a bachelor degree (B.F.A.), and had been listed on the Dean’s Honor List; and I was fortunate enough to have worked as an Editor with magazines, and different platforms.
While I was pursuing my degree, I started my journey to tutor both children and adults in tuition centers, churches, as well as one-on-one for English, Art & homework classes. Up until now, I have been tutoring for more than 5 years.
I am well-experienced with educating a diverse range of students (different ages, ethnicities, genders etc.); and that has enriched my teaching experience. Not only hoping to elevate their language skill, but helping them to be comfortable enough to utilize it in their daily lives.
With the experience I have gained, and Psychology Master degree (Part-time) I am currently studying; I have managed to be very patient, and meet the needs of every students’ academic levels, as well as personalities.
