專補香港區 Band 1 英中同國際學校（其他國際學制 / GCE A-Level 雙軌）、教學年資 8 年嘅星級導師 Dr. L（按導師私隱要求使用化名，導師資歷已獲 GETUTOR 平台認證）指出：「好多由 其他國際學制 轉軌嘅學生，第一個死位就係以為 A-Level Bio 只係『英文版 其他國際學制』。其實完全唔係。其他國際學制 考你識唔識嗰個概念，A-Level 考你識唔識『應用』嗰個概念去一個你未見過嘅 context。你背熟 textbook 都可以考得好差。」

簡單講一次兩個考試局嘅分別：

• Edexcel IAL Biology：分 Unit 1-6，AS 讀 Unit 1-3，A2 讀 Unit 4-6。比較偏重 experimental design 同 data analysis，Paper 3 / 6 係純 practical skills。
• CIE A-Level Biology（9700）：AS 讀 Paper 1-3，A2 讀 Paper 4-5。Paper 5 係 Planning, Analysis & Evaluation，考你點設計實驗、點樣批評人哋嘅實驗設計，呢個部分好多 其他國際學制 底嘅學生會 唔掂。

AS / A2 module 大致可以咁拆：

Dr. L 補充：「其實好多內容同 其他國際學制 Bio 有 overlap，但 A-Level 要求你識 寫 essay-style answer，一條題 10-15 分，要你寫足一版紙。呢個先係真正嘅門檻。」

補幾耐先見效？各 chapter 建議堂數

根據 GETUTOR 後台約 820 宗 A-Level Bio 配對樣本^*3，我哋整理咗以下建議堂數（每堂 1.5 小時）：

Genetics 個 chapter 佔 A-Level Bio 配對需求大約 31%，係最多人主動指明要補嘅 topic。第二名係 Experimental Design（約 26%）。

全港 A-Level Bio 導師評分

要留意，雖然全港有 340 位 Bio 導師，但真正熟 A-Level 格式（識分 Edexcel 同 CIE mark scheme）嘅只佔一半左右。呢個就係點解配對時間長嘅原因。

伏位一：用 其他國際學制 嘅字答 A-Level 題

例如問你 enzyme 點 work，其他國際學制 你可能寫「lock and key model」就收貨。但 A-Level mark scheme 要你寫埋「induced fit model」、講埋 conformational change of active site。少寫一個 keyword 就甩一分。GETUTOR 導師會幫學生整一個專屬 keyword list，對住 mark scheme 逐個 check。

伏位二：Experimental Design 題亂咁寫

CIE Paper 5 同 Edexcel Unit 6 呢類題，唔係考你識唔識個實驗，係考你識唔識「設計」同「批評」實驗。好多學生寫 control variables 嗰陣淨係寫「temperature, pH, volume」，但冇講點樣 control。正確寫法係「maintain temperature at 25°C using a thermostatically controlled water bath」。要有具體數字、具體儀器。

伏位三：Essay 題冇 structure

A-Level Bio 後面有啲 essay 題 10-20 分。好多學生當作短答題咁寫，結果冇拎到 QWC（Quality of Written Communication）嗰幾分。GETUTOR 導師建議用 「主題句 + 機制 + 例子 + link back」嘅四段結構寫，每段控制喺 4-6 句。

進步時間線（以每星期 1-2 堂計）

根據 GETUTOR 後台紀錄，A-Level Bio 學生由 C 升到 A 嘅平均週期係 3.2 個月^*4，比 其他國際學制 Bio（2.8 個月）長少少，因為 essay 同實驗設計需要時間訓練。
