講起深水埗,好多人第一反應係 其他國際學制 學校區,但其實呢區同鄰近嘅九龍塘、太子一帶有唔少讀 IB 嘅學生。好似英華書院、聖瑪加利男女英文中小學,加上附近九龍塘嗰邊嘅國際學校學生,好多都住深水埗、長沙灣、荔枝角。佢哋搵 IB English 導師嘅需求,其實一直都唔低。
根據 GETUTOR 後台 2024-2026 年深水埗及鄰近分區嘅 IB English 配對紀錄,樣本約 180 宗,當中約 61% 嘅查詢係 IB English Language and Literature(Lang Lit),其餘 39% 係 Literature 純文學。而最令人意外嘅係,呢批學生入面有近 43% 係中四、中五先由 其他國際學制 轉軌去 IB 嘅 — 佢哋對 IB English 嘅考評方式完全陌生,補習需求特別急切。*

問題係:IB English 導師喺全港都係稀缺資源。深水埗區嘅平均配對時間去到 7.1 小時,比 其他國際學制 英文嘅 3.8 小時幾乎長一倍。點解?因為 IB English 要求導師唔單止英文好,仲要熟悉 IB 嘅 assessment criteria、Paper 1 Guided Analysis、Individual Oral (IO)、Higher Level Essay 嘅評分邏輯 — 呢啲嘢大部分 其他國際學制 出身嘅導師根本唔識教。
Miss T(按導師私隱要求使用化名,導師資歷已獲 GETUTOR 平台認證)— 香港大學文學士畢業(主修比較文學),IELTS 8.5,本身讀過 IB Diploma 攞 English A HL 7 分。曾喺一間九龍塘國際學校做英文科 Teaching Assistant 一年半,之後專做 IB English 私補,教學年資 6 年,累計教過超過 35 個 IB English 學生,當中 9 個最終 HL 攞到 6 分或以上。教學風格係逐篇文本帶學生做 close reading annotation,唔係齋講「分析手法」。
Miss T 指出:「好多學生嘅問題係用 其他國際學制 嘅思維去應付 IB。其他國際學制 英文閱讀理解係搵答案,但 IB Paper 1 Guided Analysis 係要你自己揀 angle、自己建構 argument。冇人話你知邊個係『正確答案』,你要自己 justify。呢個思維轉變,好多學生補咗三四堂先開始明。」
佢教 Paper 1 嘅方法好具體:「我會畀學生用『三層 annotation 法』— 第一層標 literary devices 同 stylistic features;第二層寫你對每段嘅 interpretation;第三層連返去 global issue 或 broader significance。呢個方法外面嘅補習社好少教,因為大班根本冇辦法逐個學生睇佢嘅 annotation。」
另一位導師 Mr. J(按導師私隱要求使用化名,導師資歷已獲 GETUTOR 平台認證)— 香港中文大學英文系碩士畢業,曾喺英國讀 其他國際學制 再返港,教學年資 5 年,主力補深水埗同九龍塘區 IB 學生。佢補充:「Individual Oral (IO) 係好多學生最驚嘅部分。佢哋以為準備得好就穩陣,但 IO 嘅 follow-up questions 係即場問嘅,考嘅係你對文本嘅真正理解深度。我會同學生做 mock IO,錄低再逐句分析,呢個過程至少要四至五堂先見到明顯進步。」

深水埗區嘅試堂繼續率有 80%,高過全港平均,其中一個原因係呢區嘅導師好多本身就住九龍城、深水埗一帶,車程短,上門補習嘅穩定性高。而導師年資偏高,因為 IB English 門檻高,新手導師好難入場。
防伏位一:用 其他國際學制 嘅「技巧」去應付 IB Paper 1
其他國際學制 英文閱讀理解嘅邏輯係「搵 evidence → 寫返出嚟」,但 IB Paper 1 要求你對一篇 unseen text 做獨立分析。好多學生一見到 text 就開始逐行搵 metaphor、simile,列晒出嚟以為攞到分。但 IB examiner 睇嘅唔係你搵到幾多個 literary device — 而係你點樣用呢啲 device 去支持你嘅 overarching argument。冇 thesis,你寫幾多都係零散嘅觀察。
防伏位二:IO 準備過度反而跌分
Miss T 特別提醒:「我見過學生將成個 IO 嘅 10 分鐘 presentation 背到一字不漏。問題係,examiner 一聽就知你背稿,而且 follow-up questions 一問就露底。IB 評分標準入面有一項叫 ‘Knowledge, understanding and interpretation’ — 背稿嘅人喺 follow-up 環節往往冇辦法展示 genuine understanding,最後呢項分數會拉低晒。」
防伏位三:揀錯 Global Issue
IO 要求學生將一個 literary text 同一個 non-literary text 連繫到同一個 Global Issue。好多學生揀太闊嘅 issue(例如 “inequality”),結果分析變得泛泛而談。Mr. J 嘅建議:「揀 narrow 啲嘅 issue,例如唔好寫 ‘gender inequality’,寫 ‘the silencing of female voices in domestic spaces’。Narrow 嘅 issue 先可以做到 deep analysis。」
