A student-centred educator with a proven track record of fostering and inspiring academic excellence and critical thinking in advanced history curricula.
During my tenure at the Punjab Public School (PPS), Nabha, from August 2022 to March 2024, I served as the Head/Teacher-Incharge of the History Department and History Mistress for CISCE Classes X and XII. I consistently achieved exceptional student outcomes, with average board exam performance of 91% and 87% for Board Classes X and XII, respectively. Notably, I successfully guided students through the rigorous yet challenging IGCSE Cambridge courses in History and Global Perspectives, emphasising research-based learning and active engagement with historical analysis and contemporary international issues. This experience solidified my commitment to empowering students to navigate complex historical narratives with confidence.
My academic pursuits have further enriched my pedagogical approach. In 2020, I received offers for the M.Phil in “Late Antique and Byzantine Studies” at the University of Oxford and the M.Sc. in “Theory and History of International Relations” at the London School of Economics (LSE). While I ultimately chose a different path, the rigorous preparation for these programs instilled in me a deep appreciation for primary source analysis, critical questioning of dominant narratives and perspectives, and a deep appreciation of interdisciplinary connections and methods. I am committed and dedicated to cultivating these skills in my students, encouraging them to view history as a dynamic field of inquiry rather than a static body of knowledge.
