My name is François Plotard, I am French, and I have spent most of my life in Paris region, where I went to high school in a scientific section.
I am currently a third-year exchange student at the Chinese University of Hong Kong for a period of one year, enrolled in the International Asian Studies Programme at the New Asia College.
In France, my home institution is the “Paris Institute of Political Studies” or Sciences Po, well known for its training in public administration and international relations. My major is “Politics and Government”, so far I have mainly studied political science and public administration; while my minor is “International Studies”.
My motivation to enter the Chinese University was motivated by my strong attraction for Asia, and particularly for Chinese studies. That is why I went to Taiwan as an exchange student for a year when I was seventeen. During my first two years of study, I took several courses related to Asian studies with China at the centre.
While I am keen to discover the culture and lifestyle of Hong Kong, I would like to tutor French classes. Yet, beyond the grammar and vocabulary of the language, there are also all those aspects of the French spirit and culture to share.
