Duke Chen Kangsu's skill in shooting was unparalleled in the world, and he boasted of it. Duke Chen Kangsu (name Yaozui) was so good at archery that no one at that time could compare with him, and he himself was very proud of this.
When I tried to shoot in my family's garden, an oil seller stood with his burden released and looked at him askance, but he did not go away for a long time. Once, when he was practising archery in his garden, an old man selling oil put down his burden and stood watching, looking at him with squinted eyes for a long time without leaving.
I saw him hit eighty-nine out of ten, but I was slightly chipped. Seeing that eight or nine out of the ten arrows shot by Chen Gong hit the bull's eye, the old man merely nodded slightly.
Kang Su said, "Do you know how to shoot? I'm a good shot, aren't I?" Weng said, "No, but my hands are familiar with it." Lord Consuelo asked, "Do you also know how to shoot arrows? Don't I shoot very accurately?" The oil seller replied, "Nothing special, I am just very good at it."
Kangsu said angrily, "How dare you belittle my shooting! Hearing this, Lord Kangsu became very angry and said, "How dare you underestimate my archery skills!
Weng said, "I can tell by the oil I pour." He took a gourd and put it on the ground, covered its mouth with money, and then drained it with oil from a ladle, which entered through the hole of the money, and the money did not get wet. The oil seller said, "I'll use my experience of pouring oil to illustrate my point". So he took out a gourd, put it on the ground, covered the mouth of the gourd with a copper coin, and slowly scooped up the oil with a spoon, letting the oil pour into the gourd through a small hole in the middle of the coin, and the coin was not wetted by the oil at all.
He said, "I have nothing else, but my hands are familiar with it. Kangsu laughed and dismissed him. He then said, "I'm not special, I'm just very good at what I do. Lord Kangsu laughed and let him go.
