Physics is a popular subject for science as a DSE elective. If you master this subject, you will be successful in getting into the university of your dreams. To stand out in this public DSE exam, we offer the following 5 physics improvement tips.
1. It is necessary to understand the basic theory:
One of the easiest ways to learn physics is to master the basic theory. Without a foundation, it will be difficult to do any subsequent exercises. As the saying goes, everything is difficult at the beginning, so don’t be afraid. If you have any questions, feel free to ask the teacher.
Tips: Draft a Mind Map containing all knowledge points and concepts and associate them with the problem. In this way, you can see the whole picture of the theory and help with the basic principles that they actually want to ask for every complex question in mathematics.
2. Simplifying the problem:
physics is ahard to memorizesubject, but once simplified it becomes one of the most interesting and highest scoring subjects. Sometimes you'll encounter a tough problem, remember to break it down into simpler smaller components and attack each one one by one.
3. Create Flash Cards:
When you review various topics, write down the new words/concepts you encounter, and you can write some Principles and Laws into Flash Cards. In your spare time, you can also use these Flash Cards for quick memorization. Knowledge relies on memory and is built up layer by layer like a cake. Sometimes these Flash Cards also come in handy when you're stuck solving practice questions, so why not have one ready?
4. Make math your strength:
"Mathematics is the cornerstone of physics",Albert Einstein said it well. In order to understand physics well and perform well in physics exams, numeracy skills are essential. Students who do better in math generally do better in physics. This is a direct relationship, working hard in mathematics is also in physics.
5. Professional physics tutor
Are you studying hard but getting no results? Why not ask the teacher. You need a dedicatedPhysics tutor, Phy tutors can help you simplify concepts so that you can understand them effectively, and there are also many notes to take, so why not. An incompetent tutor will not be able to help you. Instead, it will make you think hard and puzzle you.GETUTORThere are countless professional physics tutors who can match you with a professional tutor who truly loves physics.Immediately assign PH tutoring teachers in Hong Kong.
Summarize
No matter how hard you work, the final result depends on your interest and practice level, but as long as you work hard, God will not let you down. A good teacher can accompany you to learn and grow. In the end, I hope you will achieve 5** in physics. Physics is not difficult. Nothing is difficult in this world, as long as you are willing. Maybe what you need is a hard worker and a good teacherguide.

Eight key points for answering Physics questions:
1. Remember the basic constants.
In physics, certain forces, such as the accelerating gravity on Earth, are often represented by the same number no matter where or how they are used. Remembering the most common constants (and their units) is the most basic knowledge point, because it is usually not given to candidates in exams, so candidates need to remember it themselves. Here are some of the most commonly used constants in physics:
- Gravity (on earth): 9.81 meters/second2
- Speed of light: 3 × 108 meters/second
- Molar gas constant: 8.32 Joules/(mole × Kelvin)
- Avogadro's number: 6.02 × 1023 per mole
- Planck's Constant: 6.63 × 10-34 Joules × seconds
2.Remember the basic equations.
In addition to units, in physics, there are various equations. Forces act between many different forces in the universe, and their relationships are described by equations. Candidates only need to remember the contents of the equations and know how to use them. If the question does not provide certain information, the candidate can convert the equation to get a specific answer and then put it into the correct equation to calculate and solve the problem. Examples of some commonly used equations are:
- Velocity = Change in position/Change in time (v=dx/dt)
- Acceleration = Change in velocity/Change in time (a=dv/dt)
- Current velocity = Initial velocity + (Acceleration × time) (v=v0+a×t)
- Force = Mass × acceleration (F=m×a)
- Kinetic energy = (1/2)Mass × velocity2 (K=(1/2)m×v)
- Work = Displacement × force (W=d×F)
- Power = Change in work/Change in time (P=dW/dt)
- Momentum = Mass × velocity (p=m×v)
3.Study the derivation of basic equations.
Memorizing simple equations is one thing, understanding why they work is another. If you can, take the time to learn how each basic physics equation is derived. This gives you a clearer understanding of the relationships between equations and makes you a master of physics. Since you basically understand how an equation "works," you'll be able to use it more effectively rather than just memorizing it as a string of characters in your head.
- For example, let's look at a very simple equation:Acceleration = change in velocity/change in time,
- a = Delta(v)/Delta(t). Acceleration is the force that causes an object to change its speed. If an object is at time t 0 The initial speed is v 0, the final speed at time t is v, then it can be said that the object is moving from v 0Accelerate when changing to v. Acceleration cannot be instantaneous – it can happen quickly, but there will be some time lag between when the object travels at its initial velocity and when it reaches its final velocity. Therefore, it is concluded that:a = (v – v 0 /t-t 0 ) = Delta(v)/Delta(t).
4.Learn the mathematical skills needed to solve physics problems.
Mathematics is often called "the language of physics." Learning math well is a great way to improve your ability to solve physics problems. Some complex physics equations even require specialized mathematical skills (such as derivatives and integration) to solve. Here are just some keywords in mathematics that can help you solve physics problems, ordered by complexity:
- Pre-Algebra and Algebra (basic equations and "find the unknown" problems)
- Trigonometry (for force diagrams, rotation problems, and angular systems)
- Geometry (used to deal with problems such as area, volume, etc.)
- Pre-calculus and calculus (used to calculate derivatives and integrals of physical equations - usually advanced topics)
- Linear algebra (for calculations involving vectors - usually an advanced topic).
5.Focus on the important information in each question.
Physics questions often contain misleading "red herrings" that ignore unnecessary information as this will slow you down the ladder and complicate the problem. So, when reading a physics problem, you need to make sure that the piece of information given to you is correct and reasonable, and then identify the solution and write the equations needed to solve the problem. Then, assign each information point in the problem into the equation,
Tips: Remember to adjust to appropriate variables.
- For example, suppose we need to find the acceleration experienced by a car as its speed changes over two seconds. If the car weighs 1,000 kg and starts moving at 9 m/s and ends at 22 m/s, we can say v 0 = 9 m/s, v = 22 m/s, m = 1,000 t = 2 s. As mentioned above, the standard acceleration equation is a = (v – v 0 /t-t 0 ). Note that the mass of the object is not taken into account here, so we can ignore the fact that the car weighs 1,000 kilograms.
- Therefore, we will solve as follows: a = (v – v 0 /t-t 0 ) = ((22 – 9)/(2 – 0)) = (13/2) = 6.5 m/s 2
Forgetting to mark your answers or using incorrect units are mistakes of the lowest order. To ensure you get the best possible score for any question you do, be sure to mark your answers with the correct units according to the type of information expressed. Listed below are some of the most commonly used common units of measurement in physics - please note that physics questions almost always use metric/SI measurements:
7.Don't forget the small details (like friction, resistance, etc.).
Physics problems are usuallyreal world model- That is, questions simplify how things actually work, making the situation easier for the reader to understand. However, this doesn't mean you can ignore an important tip, such as friction. It can be ignored unless the question states that it was intentionally left out of the question. If questions are not explicitly excluded and you have sufficient information, be sure to indicate them in your answer or ask your examiner for instructions.
- For example, suppose a problem asks you to find the acceleration of a 5-kg block along a smooth floor when it is pushed with a force of 50 Newtons. Since F = m × a, the answer seems to be as simple as solving for a in the equation 50 = 5 × a. However, in the real world, friction impedes an object's forward motion, effectively reducing the force with which it is pushed. Give the answer that excludes this friction force from the problem and gives the block accelerating slightly faster than it actually does.
8.Check your answers carefully.
A moderately difficult physics problem can easily involve a dozen mathematical calculations. Miscalculating any of these may result in your answer being incorrect, so pay close attention when doing your calculations.
Tips: If you have time, please check your answers carefully at the end.
- While simply redoing your calculations is one way to check that you answered a math question correctly, you can check your answers by using common sense to relate your questions to real life.
- For example, if you try to find the momentum (mass "Forward" direction is opposite). Therefore, if you get a negative answer, you may have made a mistake somewhere.

| Chapter | difficulty |
| Maths – Coordinate Geometry | high | 4-5
| Maths – Trigonometry (3D) | high | 4
| Maths – Calculus 基礎(M1/M2) | mid-to-high | 5-6 堂 |
| Physics – Mechanics |
| Physics – Electricity & Magnetism | high | 4-5
| Physics – Waves | middle | 3
| Physics – Heat & Gases | middle | 3
| Physics – Modern Physics | middle | 2-3
| Maths
| Physics /
| Maths
| Physics
FAQ
