防伏位:DSE Writing 最常見嘅 trap

GETUTOR 導師防伏貼士:好多英中學生寫 Argumentative Essay 嗰陣,會用大量 fancy words 想 impress examiner,但用錯 collocation 反而失分。Examiner 寧願睇 simple but accurate 嘅 sentences,唔想睇用錯字嘅 fancy attempts。Miss Tang 教學生「能用 simple 就用 simple」,sophisticated vocabulary 一段用 1-2 個就夠。

另一個常見錯誤:thesis statement 太空。寫成「There are many advantages and disadvantages」,呢類 thesis 等於冇講嘢,後面段落自然無方向。Miss Tang 要求每篇 essay 嘅 thesis 都要有 specific stance + 兩個 reason,例如「Working from home benefits employees, primarily by enhancing productivity and reducing commuting stress」,咁樣後面 PEEL 段落就有 hook。

仲有一個 trap:時間管理。Writing 1.5 小時要寫兩篇 essay。Miss Tang 教學生分階段:planning 5-7 分鐘、writing 25-30 分鐘、checking 5-7 分鐘。好多學生跳過 planning 直接寫,結果中段先發現 thesis 同 example 唔 match,要返去改,浪費咗時間。
