第一，「罐頭 intro」。好多補習社教學生背一啲萬用開場白，例如「In recent years, there has been heated discussion about…」。考評局 marker 一日睇幾百份，一睇就知你係背嘅，content mark 直接被壓住。要啱題，就要啱嗰一篇文嘅情境，唔係背個 template 落去。
第二，唔肯揀立場。Argumentative 題要求你揀一邊，但好多學生寫到「both sides have their own merits」就以為穩陣。錯晒。Marker 要嘅係清晰立場 + 有力論證。你唔揀邊，language mark 可以畀，但 content 就死。
第三，checking 時間冇留。最後 5 分鐘唔係睇錯字，係睇 tense consistency 同 subject-verb agreement。呢兩樣錯，grammar mark 扣到你肉痛。
