Mr. L 指出：「好多家長會諗，S2 啫，送去補習社大班就得啦，平啲慳啲。但我教咗咁多年，見到個問題係——S2 呢年嘅數學，表面計得掂，唔等於真係明。大班老師只會趕課程、派 worksheet，但學生究竟係用『死背公式』過關，定係真係理解咗背後嘅 logic，大班老師根本分唔到。我試過接一個 S2 學生，之前喺某大型補習社補咗一年，公式背到滾瓜爛熟，但我問佢『點解 (a+b)² 唔等於 a²+b²』，佢答唔到。呢種學生去到 S4 做 Remainder Theorem 會即刻爆煲。」
Mr. L 用嘅教學法叫「逆向提問法」：唔係老師講學生聽，而係做完一題後，要學生用自己把口解釋返俾老師聽。呢個方法喺大班根本做唔到（30 個學生點 solo 問？），但喺 1 對 1 私補就係黃金方法。根據 GETUTOR 內部導師培訓教材，用呢套方法嘅 S2 學生，2.7 個月內校內數學排名平均上升 12.3 個位。*

防伏位 1：Factorization 唔好齋靠「睇得出」
好多學生做 Factorization 係靠「眼睇」——(x² + 5x + 6) 睇得出要拆成 (x+2)(x+3)。但 Mr. L 話：「呢種方法喺 S2 簡單題做到，一去到 S3 Cross Method 或者 S4 Quadratic Formula 就即刻死。我會要求學生，就算一眼睇得出，都要寫晒 middle term 拆分嘅步驟，建立返個 systematic thinking。」
防伏位 2：Inequalities 最易錯乘負數冇變號
呢個錯誤佔 GETUTOR 後台 S2 數學 feedback 入面約 28%。大班老師通常只講一次「記住要變號」，但 1 對 1 導師會特登設計 trap 題目去訓練學生條件反射。
防伏位 3：計數機依賴症
好多 Band 1 學生中一用慣 Casio，去到 S2 做 Identities 仲想用計數機驗算——但 Identities 根本唔係計「某個值」，而係證明「任何值都成立」。導師要幫學生戒除呢個習慣，否則去到 DSE Paper 1 會大鑊，因為 Paper 1 有好多概念題根本冇得用機。

一位沙田區 Band 1 英中嘅 S2 男學生，配對前上學期考試數學得 58 分（班排第 28），主因係 Factorization 成個 chapter 齋靠背。經過 11 堂私補（約 3.1 個月），下學期考試拎到 82 分，班排升到第 9，最重要係 S3 開學後佢自己主動同媽咪講「呢家做 Quadratic Equation 好順」。呢個就係 S2 追落後嘅黃金時機。
趕得切，而且係最理想時機。S2 嘅課程內容係 S3-S4 嘅地基，而家補可以打穩晒 Algebra 根基。相反如果拖到 S4 先補，要一路追返 S2-S3 漏洞，會辛苦好多。
如果學生屬於「聽得明但做唔到」類型，1 對 1 私補效果明顯快啲，因為導師可以即時逐題問、逐題糾正思路。如果學生只係想多做練習，大班會平啲。但根據 GETUTOR 配對紀錄，S2 家長揀 1 對 1 嘅佔約 71%，原因就係呢個階段嘅問題通常係「概念理解」而唔係「練習量」。
S2 階段建議每星期 1 堂、每堂 1.5 小時就夠。太密反而令學生有壓力，而且冇時間消化。考試前可以加密到每星期 2 堂短期衝刺。
