南昌站一帶（匯璽、泓景臺、碧海藍天呢頭）近幾年多咗好多國際學校同直資學校家庭，唔少家長一打入 GETUTOR 熱線第一句就係：「我個仔讀 IGCSE Maths，但之前補開 其他國際學制 嘅 tutor 教唔掂佢，搵邊個好？」呢個唔係個別 case，而係呢頭成個社區嘅共通問題。

Mr. C（按導師私隱要求使用化名，導師資歷已獲 GETUTOR 平台認證）—— 香港科技大學工程學士畢業，中學讀國際學校，IGCSE Maths 攞 A*（Extended），其他國際學制 Further Maths A。專補南昌、奧運、九龍站一帶國際學校學生，教學年資 6 年，累計教過約 37 個 IGCSE Maths 學生，當中 24 個最終攞到 A 或以上。教學風格偏向「用英文思考」，唔會將英文題目譯返做中文再諗。
Mr. C 指出：「好多家長唔明白，IGCSE Extended Paper 4 嗰啲 long question，表面睇好似 其他國際學制 Paper 2 長題目，但評分方向完全唔同。其他國際學制 鍾意考公式應用，IGCSE 鍾意考你識唔識解釋（reasoning）同埋 show working。同一條題目，其他國際學制 學生可能直接寫個答案攞滿分，IGCSE 就算啱都未必攞盡 method mark。」
佢補充：「我成日同學生講，IGCSE Maths 唔係考你計得幾快，係考你寫得幾清楚。你平時做 past paper 唔養成寫步驟嘅習慣，考試嗰陣就算識都寫唔返出嚟。」

GETUTOR 導師防伏貼士：揀 IGCSE 導師最容易中嘅三個伏
伏一：以為 其他國際學制 5** 就一定教到 IGCSE。兩個課程英文用字差好遠。其他國際學制 叫「截距」，IGCSE 叫 y-intercept；其他國際學制 叫「相似三角形」，IGCSE 分 similar 同 congruent，仲要識 SSS、SAS、ASA 幾個 criteria 嘅英文縮寫。學生如果本身讀國際學校，你個 tutor 中英夾雜講到亂，佢做 past paper 嗰陣根本 match 唔返。
伏二：唔問清楚 exam board 就開始補。Edexcel 同 CIE 嘅 syllabus 有少少分別，paper 結構都唔同。例如 CIE 0580 分 Core 同 Extended，Edexcel 就分 Foundation 同 Higher。呢兩個 board 嘅 past paper 問法完全唔一樣。GETUTOR 後台數據顯示，約 23% 嘅 IGCSE 家長第一次打嚟都答唔到自己小朋友讀邊個 board，要打返去問學校。
伏三：用 其他國際學制 past paper 頂住先。有啲導師 IGCSE past paper 無齊，就攞 其他國際學制 Paper 2 MC 畀學生做，話「差唔多嘅」。但 IGCSE Extended Paper 2 係 short question，根本冇 MC。考試形式都唔同，操極都係嘥時間。
