I am afraid of economics because I find it boring and full of diagrams. However, this teacher was able to arouse his interest in the class and explained the economic concepts with a lot of examples from daily life, which made the economic concepts not so abstract. My son is willing to take the initiative to think about the problems, and his learning attitude is much happier.

The teacher emphasises on how to break down the questions, not to make students memorise theories, but to teach them how to use them in a flexible way. He would use his own past exam questions, which he had classified into different categories, to practise in a targeted way, and the teaching method is very efficient. It is worth the money to have such a high level teacher who is willing to come to Tsim Sha Tsui.

I am a registered teacher of secondary schools in Hong Kong, with a Master's degree from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. I have been teaching in secondary schools for more than 20 years, and I am the Head of Economics and Head of the Curriculum Section, responsible for the work of the whole school in relation to the learning strategies of the students.
I was also seconded to the Education Bureau and was the author of reference books and textbooks/assignments for Economics. I am currently writing textbooks and online teaching materials for publishers and working as a full-time tutor, mainly providing video and Tsimshatsui tutorials for IGCSE students in Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, and Australia, with Economics as the main subject.
I will provide notes, exercises and quizzes to teach students how to learn effectively, e.g. taking notes and using concept maps, etc. I will also correct students' assignments and quizzes as needed. Students can ask for homework via WhatsApp after tutorials, and parents/students can ask me for information on learning strategies (e.g. time management, resource management, personalised notes, connection awareness, emotion management, etc.) / learning resources.

The IGCSE Economics programme covers a wide range of topics such as demand-supply curves, market equilibrium, government intervention, macroeconomic policy, trade terms and so on. Students need to master a large number of vocabulary and knowledge points within 1-2 years, which requires high learning and time management skills. Candidates not only need to be familiar with each point of knowledge, but also need to be able to apply it flexibly and reflect on it. This places high demands on students' logical thinking, argumentation and English writing skills.

With so many tutors out there, how do you choose the right economics tutor for you? Here are some key factors to consider.
An excellent economics tutor usually has a prestigious background, having graduated from a renowned university with a degree in economics or a related field. This academic background means that the tutor has a solid theoretical foundation and deep understanding of economics. At the same time, a prestigious background also reflects the instructor's strong learning ability and logical thinking ability, which is very helpful in guiding students to analyse economic problems and understand complex concepts.
In addition to academic background, the instructor's years of teaching experience is also a key consideration when choosing an instructor. Tutors with many years of teaching experience know the rules of teaching, understand the learning difficulties and common problems of students, and have summarised the effective teaching methods. They are able to tailor their teaching to the student's characteristics and help them to grasp the knowledge of Economics more efficiently. Their rich teaching experience also means that they have a thorough understanding of the key points and question types in the exams, and can give the students pertinent guidance for the exams.
Each student has different learning habits and receptive abilities, so the teaching style of the tutor is an important factor to be weighed when choosing a tutor. Some students like the teacher's in-depth explanations, while others prefer interactive teaching and want to be inspired by discussions and exchanges. Therefore, it is necessary to communicate with the tutor during the trial lesson to understand the tutor's teaching characteristics and to see if it is suitable for your learning style. A tutor who is good at teaching students according to their aptitude and focuses on interactive communication can often mobilise students' enthusiasm for learning and help them to master knowledge and skills in a pleasant atmosphere.
When choosing a tutor, students should consider the tutor's academic background, years of teaching experience, teaching style and other factors to find a tutor who really suits them, so that they can achieve twice the result with half the effort in the learning process.

Rich teaching experience | Familiar with teaching rules and students' difficulties, effective teaching methods. |
Focus on interactive communication | Teach students according to their aptitude, mobilise their enthusiasm for learning, and deepen their understanding in discussion. |

When choosing IGCSE Economics tutorials, students need to consider their own schedules and learning styles. The right timing and mode of study can help students to absorb knowledge more efficiently and improve their learning results. The following are some of the most common tutorial schedules and learning styles.
One-to-one tutoring is the most personalised way of learning, allowing teachers to develop a tailored teaching plan based on the student's specific situation. This way of tutoring can satisfy the learning needs of students to the greatest extent possible, and answer students' questions in a timely manner. The schedule of one-to-one tutoring is relatively flexible, and students can choose suitable tutoring sessions according to their own schedules. However, the cost of one-to-one tutoring is relatively high and students need to balance their learning needs with their budget.
Group tutorials usually consist of 3-5 students, and the teacher will arrange the course content according to the students' common characteristics and learning progress. Compared with one-on-one tutoring, group tutoring is more interactive, allowing students to discuss and inspire each other. The cost of group tutoring is lower than that of one-to-one tutoring, which is suitable for students with limited budget. However, group tutorials are relatively less focused and teachers need to cater for the learning needs of different students.
With the advancement of technology, online tutoring is becoming more and more popular among students. Online tutoring breaks the geographical constraints and allows students to attend tutoring programmes anytime, anywhere. This is especially good for students with tight schedules, as they can utilise the time they have to study. The cost of online tutoring is usually lower than face-to-face tutoring, so students can save on travelling expenses and time costs. However, online tutoring requires a higher level of self-discipline, as students need to take the initiative to participate in interactions and complete assignments.
On the GETUTOR platform, students can choose one-to-one, group or online tutoring according to their needs. The platform offers flexible tutoring schedules, so students can choose to study during weekends or weekday evenings. In addition, GETUTOR's tutors have been carefully selected to ensure the quality of their teaching. Students can preview the tutors' teaching experience and style through the platform and choose the tutor that best suits them.
Tuition methods | Specificity | interactivity | cost | time flexibility |
One-on-one tutoring | powerful | powerful | high | high |
Group Tutoring | middle | powerful | middle | middle |
Online tutoring | middle | middle | Low | high |
In conclusion, choosing the right tutoring time and mode of study needs to take into account the student's learning needs, time schedule and budget. Students can try different types of tuition to find the most suitable learning path for themselves, so that they can achieve the desired results in the IGCSE Economics Examination.
To ensure the effectiveness of IGCSE Economics Tutorials, tutors need to keep track of students' learning progress and provide timely feedback. By setting regular assignments and tests, tutors can understand the students' mastery of the knowledge points, and focus on the weak points to strengthen the training.
According to the students' performance and feedback, tutors will adjust the teaching plan in time to strengthen the weak points and consolidate the existing results. Below are some of the tutorial organisations' teaching effectiveness data.
Tuition institution | student progress rate | Improvement in average grade | Parent Satisfaction |
WisdomTech Education | 92% | 2 levels | 95% |

Through the tutoring, my Economics grade has improved from B to A*. The tutor's explanation is very clear and the exercises are very focused. -Chen, tutoring student
Assigning homework is one of the most important means of checking the effectiveness of students' learning. The tutor will carefully design assignments related to the course content according to the progress of teaching and urge students to complete them. When correcting assignments, teachers will give detailed comments, point out strengths and weaknesses, and focus on common problems.
Apart from assignments, regular tests are also an essential part of teaching. Generally, a test will be arranged after the end of each teaching module to comprehensively examine the students' mastery of knowledge. The test results not only reflect the learning effect of students, but also provide a basis for teachers to optimise teaching.
Mock exams are the "touchstone" of IGCSE preparation. The tutors will make reference to the real questions of the past years and prepare the mock exam papers to recreate the examination scene as much as possible. Students will be able to find out where their problems lie and make up for them in a timely manner through repeated practice exams. At the same time, the mock exam is also a psychological construction process, which helps to relieve the anxiety of the exam and increase confidence.
After the practice test, the tutor will give a detailed commentary on the paper, analysing the ideas and techniques of answering each question to help students form a clear framework for solving the questions. For the wrong questions, the tutor will urge students to repeat the exercises to consolidate their weak points.
All in all, feedback, progress tracking and stage-by-stage assessment are indispensable parts of IGCSE Economics tutorials. By working closely with students, tutors can identify problems in a timely manner and make targeted improvements in order to achieve the desired tutoring results and excel in the IGCSE exams.
The quality of teaching and student satisfaction are key factors in measuring the success of IGCSE Economics tuition. Through real reviews and word-of-mouth from students and parents, we are able to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the effectiveness of the tutorials.

Plan 設計上採取 「intensive sprint」 策略:每週 2 堂、每堂 2 小時、加 weekly homework review,前 4 週只 focus 三個 high-yield topic(Basic Economic Problem、Allocation of Resources、Government & Macroeconomy),避免 overload。
