Hello everyone, today is February. In fact, there are still two to three months before the DSE written exam. Today’s article is not about how to review books. I hope to talk about some things before, during, and after the exam. How to adjust in life and psychology.
Psychology is really different for everyone, and everyone can use different methods to make themselves most comfortable and happy, so I will give some suggestions below, hoping to help everyone.
 
 
1. Adjust work and rest time
 
 
 
First of all, adjustment in life is indispensable. The mind must be adjusted to be clearest in the morning. The DSE written test is usually held in the morning. No matter how late you go to bed or how energetic you are at night, you must adjust your work and rest time. Of course, it takes a few days to get used to it, so it is generally recommended to take a few weeks to get used to it.
 
It takes 21 days to form a firmly rooted new habit, and the same goes for the habit of going to bed early and getting up early. Therefore, we can start with small actions, such as going to bed and getting up half an hour to an hour earlier than usual every day, and gradually form a work and rest pattern that suits us.
 
 
2. Mentally scrambling for help in emergencies is a hundred harms but no good
 
 
 
The second is the mental state before the exam. The mental state is also crucial to the performance of the exam. I understand that everyone thinks that the Diploma Examination is a matter of life and death, so they are extremely nervous. In fact, being nervous is not a bad thing, it means you think the matter is important; but being too nervous can be counterproductive. Most candidates suffer from poor sleep due to excessive stress the night before the test, or they are so nervous that they cannot concentrate half an hour to an hour before the test.
 
 
Don’t keep reviewing and aggravate your tension.
 
In general, in this case, we also recommend that students avoid reviewing continuously the night before the exam and before entering the exam room. This will only increase your nervousness and will not help your performance. Please try to think that as long as you have enough practice and a good practice pattern, you will be enough to cope with the exam. It is harmful to cram in a hurry. Therefore, when the exam is approaching, you only need to read some concise notes on the spot. Do not bring too many notes to avoid confusing your thoughts. If you are still a student who is too nervous, you can try listening to some classical music to relax your mind and distract from the impact of the external environment on you.
 
 
 
 
3. In terms of diet, avoid eating fried or raw or cold things
 
Many candidates may not have noticed that diet can also affect your exam status. On the eve of the exam, some candidates will choose to take large doses of energy drinks or supplements to stay in optimal physical condition. However, absorbing too many external added nutrients is not good for a young and vigorous body. In fact, as long as you eat lightly and avoid fried or cold things, you can avoid physical discomfort.
 
 
 
4. Don’t discuss it after the test because it’s a foregone conclusion.
 
 
Like everyone else, the one thing you must not do during the entire exam period is discuss with others after the exam. Many candidates are used to discussing the answers to the test questions with others after the test. In fact, until the answers are made public, no one will know exactly the HKEAA’s standard answers, and no one can be sure that their answers are right or wrong.
 
Some students who have no confidence in themselves become anxious and worried as soon as they hear that other people's answers are different from their own, and their mental state suddenly deteriorates, which can even affect their performance in the next subject. Therefore, instead of spending time discussing with others, it is better to give yourself time to calm down and review the next subject.
 
 
 
5. Try to control your social media time
 
 
In addition, try to control the time you use social media during the exam. For example, set the number and time of checking Instagram, Snapchat, and Youtube in a day, so as to give yourself time to relax occasionally without being too indulgent. However, if you are a candidate who cannot exercise self-discipline and are often distracted using social media, I suggest you delete them from your phone! Don’t use it until after the exam!
 
After the exam -Do more practical things to disperse tension
 
I understand that everyone may be very nervous after taking the exam. After the exam, in terms of psychological adjustment, they will also feel that I have made a mistake in which paper, which paper will be tested poorly, and which subject I should give up. Please try to force yourself not to think so pessimistically. On the contrary, if you are really worried about your academic performance, it is recommended that you do something more practical after the exam, such as filling out a volunteer application. When filling out a volunteer application, think of several plans, which one? Just sort out the scores.
 
 
Prepare for the interview
 
If you are still worried about your college entrance examination, in addition to traveling to relax, you can also find time to think about self-introductions of different lengths and versions in Chinese and English, and then prepare for your college interview when you have time. I think Don't be too nervous. The most important thing is to use these few months to relax, have fun, and comfort yourself.
