好多家長都以為小朋友小學英文攞 A,升到中一自然冇問題。但根據 GETUTOR 2024-2026 年全港中一英文配對紀錄,樣本約 680 宗,當中有近 61% 嘅家長係喺中一上學期第一次測驗之後先嚟搵補習。原因好一致:「點解小學英文成日 90 幾分,而家連 60 分都冇?」

中一英文同小學英文根本係兩回事。小學考嘅係 vocabulary 同 grammar pattern,去到中一突然要讀長文、寫 essay、做 listening comprehension,仲要適應全英文教材。尤其係啲由中文小學升上英中嘅學生,衝擊更加大。我哋後台數據顯示,呢類學生佔全港中一英文配對需求嘅 37%,係最大嘅一個群組。*

Miss L 指出:「中一英文最大嘅問題唔係唔識,而係唔慣。我見過好多學生,grammar 底子其實唔差,但一去到要用英文理解一篇 300 字嘅 passage,成個人就僵咗。佢哋細個習慣咗逐隻字睇,冇學過 skim 同 scan,所以做 reading comprehension 永遠做唔切。」

佢歸納咗中一英文三大死位:

第一:Reading Comprehension 唔識定位。學生成日由頭睇到尾先答題,時間就咁燒晒。其實中一嘅閱讀理解大部分答案都係按段落順序出,你學識用 keyword 定位,速度即刻快一倍。

第二:Writing 離題或內容太空泛。中一開始要寫 150-200 字嘅短文,好多學生一落筆就寫流水帳,冇 topic sentence、冇 supporting details。Miss L 會教學生用「PEEL」結構(Point → Evidence → Explain → Link),中一開始打呢個底,上到高中寫 DSE Paper 2 會輕鬆好多。

第三:Tense 混亂。小學學過 present tense、past tense,但去到中一突然加入 present perfect、past continuous,學生成日搞混。最常見嘅錯係「I have went」呢類,寫咗自己都唔知錯。
