專補全港 IB 課程（包括 ESF、Li Po Chun、ISF 等國際學校）、教學年資 7 年嘅 Mr. C（按導師私隱要求使用化名，導師資歷已獲 GETUTOR 平台認證）指出：「好多學生以為 IB Econ 係背定義科，其實完全相反。Examiner 最憎就係你 copy 晒 textbook 啲 definition。Paper 1 Part (b) 嘅 15 分題，你齋寫 definition 加 diagram 最多攞 8-9 分，剩低嗰 6-7 分全部係睇你識唔識 evaluate 同 link 返去 real-world example。」
According to GETUTOR 後台 IB Econ 學生 feedback 紀錄，樣本約 287 宗,41% 嘅學生喺 Paper 1 失分都係因為 Diagram 畫得唔完整。最常見係：
Mr. C 話：「我喺 GETUTOR 教過嘅 40 幾個 IB 學生，全部第一堂我都要佢哋畫十幾個 Diagram，畫到熟晒為止。呢個係外面雞精班唔會 focus 嘅位，因為佢哋要 cover syllabus，冇時間幫你逐個 check。」
IB Econ IA 總共要交三份，每份 800 字，揀三個唔同嘅 unit（Microeconomics、Macroeconomics、The Global Economy）。問題係，好多學生揀 article 揀得太廣泛，例如揀「US-China Trade War」呢類題目，根本 800 字寫唔晒。
Mr. C 防伏貼士：「揀 article 一定要細。最好係某個國家某個行業某個 policy，例如『印尼 2024 年推出嘅 sugar tax』。個 scope 越窄，你越容易 evaluate 得深入，分數自然高。」
Paper 3 係 HL 先要考，分數佔 30%。全部係 quantitative 題，計 elasticity、tax revenue、welfare loss 等等。GETUTOR 紀錄顯示約 44%* 嘅 HL 學生 mock 時 Paper 3 攞唔到 5 分以上，主要因為計數嗰陣冇寫 unit，又或者 decimal place 唔夠。

值得留意嘅係，識批 IA 同識教 Paper 3 HL 嘅導師，其實唔係每個 IB Econ 導師都做到。所以配對嗰陣唔好齋睇「有冇教過 IB」，一定要問清楚佢教過幾多份 IA、學生平均攞幾多分。
好多家長以為搵個教 其他國際學制 Econ 攞 5** 嘅導師，教 IB 無問題。錯。IB 嘅 Assessment Criteria 完全唔同：其他國際學制 睇你識唔識答題，IB 睇你識唔識 evaluate 同 link 返 real-world。一個唔識 IB rubric 嘅導師，就算佢自己 Econ 好勁，都教唔到你攞高分。
IB 嘅 plagiarism check 極嚴，用 Turnitin 之外仲會比對歷年 sample。有 GETUTOR 導師話過，佢教過嘅學生入面，曾經有同校兩個學生揀咗同一篇 article，雖然內容唔同，但結構太似，結果兩個都被 flag。
Extended Essay 4,000 字聽落好多，但其實寫得深入根本唔夠用。題目越 specific 越好。例如唔好寫「How does the minimum wage affect unemployment?」，要改成「To what extent did Hong Kong’s 2023 minimum wage increase affect employment in the catering industry?」。

去年我哋有一位 啟德九龍灣教會中學 IB SL 學生報讀IB 經濟補習，原本最大難關係 IA Commentary Writing。佢同我哋配對嘅導師合作 6 個月之後，由由 4 分升到 6 分 (升咗 2 分)，校內試從中下游升到 top 20%。家長最初擔心會浪費時間，但配對前我哋花咗 48 小時了解學生嘅學習風格、學校進度同時間表，先揀出三位最熟悉相同 syllabus 嘅導師，學生試完第一堂就揀到最 match 嘅一位。由家長社區實名口碑沉澱嘅老師庫，所以家長前期完全唔需要承擔失敗風險。

根據過去 3 年IB 經濟學生數據，第 1-2 個月主要係導師幫學生「補底」(重新建立基礎概念同學習習慣)，第 3-4 個月開始操試題，第 5-6 個月衝刺校內試或公開試。如果學生原本喺中下游 (60 分以下)，一般 6-8 個月會見明顯進步；如果學生原本及格但想攞 Level 5+ 或 IB 6/7 分，要至少 4-6 個月針對性 past paper 訓練。每堂後導師會留 5-10 分鐘總結今堂重點同 due date，每月會畀進度報告，家長可以同步追蹤。
